Golf at its Finest

We have had a long winter, but spring has finally sprung! We would like to welcome everyone back. Hopefully you had a chance to visit warmer Number 11climates this summer and brush up your golf game. Come in and check out the new, exciting things we have in the Golf Shop. When you stop by don’t forget to sign up for some of our upcoming events. Enclosed you will find a tournament guide that briefly describes each event we have scheduled this year. This guide replaces the tournament booklet that has been sent out in previous years.

Also, beginning in 2008, the USGA has made a couple notable rules changes:

  • A golfer will be allowed to lift a ball for identification in a bunker or water hazard. However, there will be a two-stroke penalty for playing a wrong ball from a hazard. In match play, the penalty will be loss of hole.
  • The penalty for the accidental deflection of a ball by a player, his partner or either of their caddies or equipment under Rule 19-2 will be reduced to one penalty stroke in both match play and stroke play. (In 2007, the penalty was loss of hole in match play and two strokes in stroke play.)
